Divine Diving at St Agnes

Posted by on July 4, 2014

Underwater seems to have also withstood the storms with just a good scouring of areas of seaweed which is quickly regrowing. Jellyfish are appearing again in huge numbers with large numbers of the enormous barrel jellyfish (Rhizostoma octopus).

Leatherback turtles are said to feed on these and there has been an unconfirmed report of one this week. Dolphins and porpoises have also been seen several times off St Agnes and Porthtowan.

REMEMBER if you see any marine life, please report them to the Environmental Record Centre for Cornwall and Isle of Scilly - www.orks.org.uk
